🏥 Unit Overview

• Total Beds: 54 (including 11 dedicated Ortho/Spine beds)
• Patient Ratios:
  • RN: 1:5–6
  • PCT: 1:12–15
• Team Model: RN/LPN collaboration (10 patients per team)
• Support Staff: Unit secretaries (weekdays until 8 PM), PCTs, nurse externs
• Charting System: Meditech

 

🩺 Patient Population

• General Medical-Surgical patients
• Orthopedic & Spine cases (dedicated unit)
• Trauma (stable)
• Psych medical hold patients
• Post-procedure patients (non-interventional caths, lap appy/chole, etc.)
• Dialysis (HD & peritoneal), wound care, and more

• Remote telemetry & continuous pulse oximetry
• Specialty beds & transfer equipment
• Wound vacs, chest tubes, feeding tubes

📋 Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care
• Perform thorough assessments and prioritize care effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Manage diverse Med-Surg patient assignments
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech
• Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

 

✅ Requirements

Must-Have:

• Minimum 1–2 years of Med-Surg RN experience
• Active RN License
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and work independently

Preferred:

• ACLS Certification
