American Traveler is hiring a Charge Nurse RN for a Long Term Care position requiring an active SD or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

- Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting providing charge nurse coverage \n
- Provide general nursing care to residents and supervise Nursing Assistants \n
- Varied day and evening shift schedule \n
- 13-week assignment with 40 guaranteed hours \n
- \n
- Active SD or compact RN license required \n
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required \n
- BLS certification required \n
- Skilled in IV therapy including initiating IVs, administering initial medications, and managing central lines and catheters \n
- \n
- Perform nursing assessments and develop resident care plans based on nursing diagnoses \n
- Coordinate with physicians and family members to ensure resident care needs are met \n
- Administer and chart routine and emergency medications and treatments \n
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for continuity of care \n
- Follow safety and infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment \n
- Serve as primary point of contact on assigned shift and supervise resident assistants \n
- Participate in facility Quality Management program as part of the interdisciplinary team \n
