Senior Accountant

Location: Shelton, 100% onsite
Salary: Up to $120k + bonus

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant:

Prepare journal entries in compliance with Company standards and policies as well as drive improvements to our documentation and processes.
Help create, improve, and conduct detailed balance sheet account reconciliations that will support process improvement and standardization.
Assist with continuous improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives in support of corporate strategies.
Generate ad-hoc financial reports, perform general ledger account analysis and technical accounting research as requested.
Work actively with cross-functional teams to drive project completion impacting various accounting and finance areas.
Actively support internal and external audits including preparation of audit support and responding to auditor inquiries.
Facilitate the enhancement of internal controls and account reconciliation processes and ensure the effective implementation and ongoing operating effectiveness of a best-in-class controls environment.

Preferred Experience of Senior Accountant:

Knowledge of US GAAP
An understanding of the financial close process
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of internal controls and how to effectively implement them.
Must possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must possess a process improvement mindset with willingness to challenge current processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the initiative to identify issues and implement solutions.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and V Lookup formulas.
