CNC Machinist

Theodore, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Machinist.
Essential Duties:
• Manufacture customer parts in a cost-efficient manner while producing quality work within routed hours.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and keep machines in good operating condition.
• Ensure all work meets customer requirements and report nonconformances to Quality prior to inspection.
• Accurately document work activity using routers, forms, and IT resources.
• Log time on router operations to ensure accurate job costing.
• Meet daily production targets assigned by supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and actively support safety improvements.
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow 5S principles.
• Support the Quality Management System, including documentation and adherence to the Quality Policy.
• Complete all required reports and records such as Quality Plans, ITPs, routers, and inspection reports.
• Adhere to proper dress code and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
• Proficient in using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings, schematics, and GD&T.
• For CNC Machinists:
Verify CNC software, post-processing, and readiness; notify management of improvements or needs.
Ensure programming is completed prior to releasing jobs for production.
• Competent with hand tools (must supply tools).
• Understanding of quality system procedures, work instructions, and process mapping.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and API Q1 requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and write in English.
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a General Machinist operating lathes, mills, grinders, or equivalent education.
• For CNC Machinists:
Minimum 3 years of experience with CNC lathes and mills.
Minimum 2 years required if experienced in only CNC lathes or mills.
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings, 3D models, and customer requirements for programming and quality production.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, oils, and machinery.
• Manual dexterity to operate equipment and inspection tools.
