Dietary Supervisor

Position Summary

The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily food service operations to ensure residents receive nutritious, appetizing, and well-balanced meals in accordance with physician orders, resident preferences, and regulatory guidelines. This role includes supervising dietary staff, maintaining sanitation standards, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support the overall health and satisfaction of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the dietary department in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served according to residents' diets and preferences.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise dietary staff, fostering teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct routine kitchen inspections to ensure cleanliness, proper food storage, and adherence to infection control standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Registered Dietitian, Nursing, and Administration to maintain quality nutrition services.
  • Maintain inventory, order food and supplies, and manage department budgets efficiently.
  • Assist in menu planning and review meal production sheets for accuracy.
  • Participate in resident care plan meetings as needed.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within [timeframe, e.g., 1 year of hire].
  • Minimum of [1-3] years of food service supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to food service in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment.
