About the Project: Sepal is conducting a research study to understand work excellence among data scientistss to establish professional benchmarks. Selected participants will share their professional background, design field-specific screening questions, and document substantial work projects as case studies.\n\nSample of Reported Job Titles: Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Analyst, AI Scientist, Quantitative Analyst.\n\nMUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:\n-4+ years full-time experience as a data scientists\n-English language fluency\n-U.S. residency\n-Access to a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet\n-Technology proficiency: Comfortable with messaging, video calling, and uploading files\n-Ability to follow detailed written instructions and complete online tasks independently\n\nCOMPENSATION AND LOGISTICS:\n-Hourly pay: $38–$170 per hour, plus task bonuses, based on experience and fit\n-Paid bi-weekly based on tracked and approved hours\n-Classification as 1099 independent contractor; engagement is at-will\n-Entirely remote—work whenever you like as long as deadlines are met\n-Current employment in the field is not required\n\nThis is a short-term project requiring roughly 40–100 hours of work total, between now and December 29th. The engagement begins with a paid 2–4 day trial.\n\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\n-- Complete a short questionnaire outlining your analytical background\n -- Evaluate AI-generated statistical analyses, predictive models, feature engineering steps, and experimental designs\n -- Help develop realistic and edge-case scenarios involving model drift, data imbalance, inference errors, and ambiguous findings\n -- Provide expert judgment on what high-quality versus low-quality analytical work looks like in practice\nWHY PARTICIPATE?\nYour real-world experience is essential to establishing rigorous safety and capability benchmarks for AI systems handling high-impact analytical tasks.
