Credentialing Specialist

Location: Summit, NJ
Type: Contract | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Start Date: December 15, 2025
End Date: March 14, 2026

Responsibilities

• Verify provider credentials, including education, training, licensure, certifications, and work history.
• Process initial applications and reappointments (125–200 quarterly).
• Ensure compliance with legal, federal, state, and regulatory requirements (TJC, NCQA, etc.).
• Maintain accurate provider files and data in the Echo credentialing database.
• Prepare materials for Credentials Committee, MEC, and Board of Trustees meetings.
• Track license and certification expirations and manage re-credentialing timelines.
• Coordinate with providers, medical staff offices, HR, and regulatory bodies.
• Schedule and occasionally attend medical staff department meetings; take meeting minutes as needed.
• Process and collect medical staff dues.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all provider information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the healthcare credentialing process is required.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to research, analyze, and verify data with high accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency with computer systems; Echo credentialing system experience preferred.

Schedule

• Days: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)
