The Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) plays a vital role in supporting patient diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care through the performance of accurate and timely laboratory testing. This position is responsible for conducting a wide range of clinical laboratory procedures, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, and blood bank. Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens following established protocols and safety standards. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality control requirements. Record, interpret, and report test results with precision and within required turnaround times. Perform and document quality control procedures; troubleshoot testing or equipment issues as needed. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of laboratory activities, testing processes, and results. Comply with all infection control, safety, and laboratory regulatory standards, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA. Participate in proficiency testing programs and engage in ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance technical competency. Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and fellow laboratory personnel to support high-quality diagnostic outcomes.
