OBJECTIVE

Lead the implementation and administration of an effective EHS program that ensures a safe work environment for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors. Maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, industrial hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding interpretation of EHS regulations
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators. Serve as the primary contact for OSHA, EPA, or affiliated agencies
  • Maintain EHS metrics on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis and develop plans to improve performance by analyzing trends. Maintain OSHA logs and required associated records.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents and identify root cause(s). Follow 5-Why or Fault Tree Analysis investigative methods.
  • Assist engineering and production with development of corrective actions derived from incident investigations, audits, or inspections.
  • Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential or environmental impact.
  • Ensure EHS programs, policies, and procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and consistently implemented and enforced.
  • Maintain compliance with existing permit requirements. Submit new permit applications or permit renewals as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submittal of all required safety and environmental reports, records, and fees as required.
  • Facilitate site safety meetings. Conduct annual EHS trainings and orientation for new hires.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, Master’s degree desirable.
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and 40 CFR regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
