Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager oversees all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, and financial reporting. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to ensure accurate financial records, deliver strategic financial insights, and drive operational excellence. The Accounting Manager also leads a high-performing accounting team, promoting efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. This position will be in office 4 days a week and the salary ranges from $120-140k, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, job costing, and financial reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and forecasts
- Monitor project budgets and costs, ensuring accurate allocation and contract alignment
- Maintain and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounting team members; provide ongoing performance feedback
- Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Optimize the use of accounting systems and integrations (e.g., Sage 300, Textura, Procore)
- Ensure timely completion of sales/use tax filings, business license renewals, and regulatory reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting concepts, including:
- Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
- Percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
- Bonding
- AIA billing
- Proficiency with construction accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Experience in public accounting
