TFC Recycling, a leading force in the recycling and sustainability industry, is expanding our team and looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth in domestic and international commodity markets. 🌟 What You’ll Do

As our Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of marketing and sales strategies for recyclable commodities including paper, plastics, steel, aluminum, and glass

  • Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international buyers and business partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with all surrounding municipalities
  • Oversee all logistics planning related to transportation and port operations

  • Research, develop, and optimize new sources of market opportunities

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing strategies that maximize value and profitability

  • Coordinate closely with Corporate, Production, and Hauling divisions to ensure alignment

  • Drive year-over-year growth goals and performance benchmarks

  • Standardize processes and improve efficiencies across the marketing and commodity sales function

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commodity markets

  • Lead and influence cross-functional stakeholders to achieve shared goals

💼 What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings both expertise and leadership:

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, finance, engineering, transportation, operations, or related fields

  • Experience negotiating complex contracts across multiple spend categories

  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or Accounting

  • Professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, Six Sigma, Lean)

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies

  • Proficiency in:

    • MS Office (advanced Excel, macros, formulas)

    • AMCS/Elemos, CieTrade, SofPak, or related systems

    • Logistics and port operations

    • Inventory and weights/measures standards

  • Location: 1958 Diamond Hill Road, Chesapeake, VA 23324

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm (additional hours as needed)

  • Reports To: COO / Sr. VP of Operations

  • Travel: As business needs dictate

  • Employment Type: Exempt
