Schedule & Requirements

• Position: RN – Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU (Step Down)
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Call: None
• EMR: Epic

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year recent ICU inpatient experience
• Experience caring for:
  • Neuro patients
  • Trauma patients
  • Respiratory distress cases
  • Alcohol withdrawal patients
  • Patients on insulin drips
• Step-Down/Progressive Care experience preferred
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients in an intermediate ICU setting

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Current Missouri RN License (or eligibility for Missouri licensure)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor and manage high-acuity neuro, trauma, and medical patients.
• Care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions.
• Manage and monitor:
  • Chest tubes
  • Arterial lines
  • Wound vacs
  • Surgical drains
  • External Ventricular Drains (EVDs)
  • BiPAP and Airvo therapy
  • NICOM monitoring
  • Insulin infusions
• Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and ancillary departments.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance with facility standards.
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.
