Veterinarian Associate Requirements & Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• Licensed (or able to be licensed) with DEA eligibility.
• Confident in anesthesia, dentistry, and standard surgical procedures.

Veterinarian Associate Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Deliver thorough exams, individualized treatment plans, and preventive care that fits each pet’s lifestyle.
• Diagnose and treat conditions using a clear, problem-solving approach.
• Communicate openly with pet parents and document care with transparency.
• Perform surgeries ranging from routine spay/neuter to more complex soft-tissue procedures.
• Manage dental care including radiographs, extractions, and oral surgeries.
• Oversee hospitalized patients to ensure they receive consistent, compassionate care.
• Work closely with a team that values empathy, collaboration, and communication.
