We are searching for an Accounting Specialist who will be responsible for providing support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team working to maintain order and transparency for the group’s finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in tax and accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
As an Accounting Specialist you will:
- Post and process double-entry bookkeeping journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded, including submitting all necessary entries in compliance with myDATA requirements.
- Update accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers with all bank receipts and payments.
- Review and monitor fixed assets (PPE), including additions, disposals, and depreciation/amortization, and reconcile the fixed asset register with the general ledger.
- Reconcile monthly payroll accounting entries with payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all journal entries with the general ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly tax return submissions (VAT, withholding taxes, intra-community supplies/acquisitions, etc.) and reconcile all related tax accounts with the general ledger.
- Review, verify, and reconcile employee expense reports to ensure proper documentation and correct accounting classification.
- Organize and update financial data, schedules, and supporting files to ensure information is accurate, properly maintained, and readily available when needed.
- Check, verify, and prepare supplier and employee payments, and organize the payments scheduling cycle.
Requirements
To be successful in this role as an Accounting Specialist, you should have:
- 3-5 years of proven experience as an Accountant in double-entry bookkeeping Greek Entities
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- Familiar with monthly submissions of VAT returns, monthly withholding taxes, myDATA, tax laws about corporate income tax etc.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and Greek Accounting Standards
- Good knowledge of MS Office Suite and in particular of spreadsheets (Excel)
- Experience with bookkeeping software (Pylon accounting or equivalent) with ability configuring and managing accounts to export right reports
- Fluent in English
- Organized, analytical thinking with great attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with US and UK based entities and with ERPs (Xero, NetSuite, SAP etc) will be highly valued.
