Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in generator troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance with a focus on small engines, mid-size liquid cooled engines, and larger scale gas/ diesel engines. We don't require someone who checks every box completely, but a well rounded background knowledge of all areas is desired. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairing various types of machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, liquid-cooled and air-cooled generators, and automotive equipment.
- Utilize schematics and product manuals to diagnose and repair any and all issues with the unit you are working on.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently to carry out repairs.
- Conduct heavy lifting as required for equipment handling and installation.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy lifting techniques and safe handling of equipment.
- Strong understanding of schematics related to machinery and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation in a workshop environment.
- Background in automotive repair is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
- Knowledge of equipment repair processes, particularly for generators.
- Must be able to use a tablet/ laptop and ability to keep detailed notes on repairs and communicate to service manager and customers.
- Must be able to troubleshoot issues in the field and determine the best course of action to repair.
- Critical thinking and the ability to overcome obstacles in the field by yourself.
