Job Title: Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer who enjoys working as part of a team to support, improve, and drive elements of our quality standards. This position is responsible for the overall quality of manufactured products and processes. It reports to our Quality Leader and works collaboratively with other parts of the organization to maximize success for Trystar and our customers.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide manufacturing quality support to improve FPY and OTD.
  • Provide technical assistance related to process capability and defect detection or prevention.
  • Support creation and implementation of quality procedures, specifications, standards, data collection, and metrics to ensure products meet or exceed requirements.
  • Engage in product release to ensure manufacturability and process controls are realized.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to create, update, and maintain process control plans and FMEAs.
  • Analyze failures to meet requirements, determine corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and use structured problem-solving templates such as 8D or 5 Whys.
  • Review and analyze information and facilitate cross-functional efforts to systematically mitigate risk in problem areas.
  • Assist with process improvement and compliance to deliver high-quality products and services consistently and on time.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to eliminate scrap, reduce rework operations, and optimize inspection processes and procedures.
  • Analyze returned materials and warranty information; assist with RMA warranty determination.
  • Coordinate and communicate plans and activities to drive a team approach where needed.
  • Support procedures and modifications in QMS, product, or quality standards as needed.
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly methods such as fixtures, tooling, fabrication, gaging methodology, and metrology.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • ASQ CQE
  • Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC problem-solving experience
  • Awareness of electrical standards or compliance certifications (UL, ETL, CSA)
  • Exposure to statistical knowledge (probability and statistics)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Strong team facilitation skills and ability to motivate teams and individuals not in a direct line of control to advance improvement projects
  • Analytical and computer skills with experience in Epicor ERP/MRP or similar and Microsoft 365.
