Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs using various software.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to define measurement strategies.
  • Select appropriate CMM probes, fixtures, and measurement methods for diverse parts.
  • Validate CMM programs through first-article inspections, correlation studies, and repeatability tests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve CMM program errors, measurement discrepancies, and equipment issues.
  • Maintain and update CMM program libraries, documentation, and revision control.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure measurement accuracy and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Expert-level understanding and application of GD&T principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models.
  • Strong knowledge of metrology, measurement techniques, and CMM calibration.
  • Proven experience in CMM programming within a manufacturing quality environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators)
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis techniques
  • Ability to design and/or fabricate CMM holding fixtures
  • Experience training or mentoring others on CMM operation and inspection best practices
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to quality processes
