Advertised Job Summary
Responsible for accurately preparing and maintaining all payroll records in an ERP HR/Payroll system in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations. This includes interpreting and analyzing gross pay, tax implications, state retirement implications, and other special issues that arise. Provides guidance to employees concerning payroll issues.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Preferred Qualifications
- PeopleSoft or other ERP Experience preferred.
- Higher Education experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM application.
- Previous FLSA training and understanding, including principles of overtime calculations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word, PowerPoint, and experience with accounting principles.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of payroll, accounting, state government, retirement regulations.
- Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and analyze and interpret related data.
- Ability to update systems and processes when new rules and regulations are implemented.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
