SummaryThe Pharmacology department is seeking a medical research technician to provide support for many aspects of the daily operation of the Pharmacology lab with a focus on the studies on the role of plasma- or brain-derived extracellular vesicles on the development and progression of neuropathogenesis due to HIV-infection and aging with a focus on the brain microvasculature (composed of end arterioles, capillaries, and venules). The medical research technician will conduct in vivo and in vitro experiments to determine the effect and mechanisms of action of circulating extracellular vesicles on cerebral microvasculature under supervision. The medical research technician will work effectively with other laboratory personnel including Post Docs, technicians, and students. The medical research technician should be familiar with a variety of approaches including in vivo experiments with mouse, isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles and brain microvasculature, in vitro cell culture, microscopy imaging, immunofluorescence, and performing western blotting, ELISA, and RT-PCR.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree. • One year of research experience with mice/rats, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
