Position Overview
Join our client, a national leader in blood health dedicated to improving patient outcomes through precision medicine and transfusion science. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you’ll perform critical immunohematology testing and ensure the safe and accurate provision of blood products for transfusion. This role is working onsite within a nationally ranked hospital and is essential to supporting healthcare providers with life-saving diagnostics.

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Type: Direct Hire
Shifts Available: 2nd, 3rd
Training: 90-day training period on 1st shift (day shift)
Pay: $29.25 – 46.00/hour (depending on credentials and experience)

Schedule/Shift Requirements

  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM | 5 days/week (Sun–Sat)
  • 3rd Shift: 8:30–9:00 PM start | 10-hour shift | 4 days/week with rotating 8-day stretch every third week (4 days on, 4 days off, 8 days on, 4 days off)
  • Must be available to train on 1st shift (day) for the first 90 days
  • Weekend and holiday availability required
  • On-call and overtime coverage may be necessary


What We’re Looking For: 

  • Current, up-to-date resume.
  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science and ASCP certification (MLS, CLS, MT, BB).
  • Associate degree in laboratory science or MLT with ASCP certification and 5+ years of transfusion service experience.
  • Clinical experience in transfusion services (through education or prior employment).
  • Strong knowledge of immunohematology.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and lab technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform serologic testing and interpret results.
  • Prepare and issue blood components for transfusion.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, AABB, CLIA, OSHA, CAP).
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment and reagents.
  • Provide consultation and support to healthcare providers.
  • Participate in quality improvement and training initiatives
