Position Overview
Join our client, a national leader in blood health dedicated to improving patient outcomes through precision medicine and transfusion science. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you’ll perform critical immunohematology testing and ensure the safe and accurate provision of blood products for transfusion. This role is working onsite within a nationally ranked hospital and is essential to supporting healthcare providers with life-saving diagnostics.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Shifts Available: 2nd, 3rd
Training: 90-day training period on 1st shift (day shift)
Pay: $29.25 – 46.00/hour (depending on credentials and experience)
Schedule/Shift Requirements
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM | 5 days/week (Sun–Sat)
- 3rd Shift: 8:30–9:00 PM start | 10-hour shift | 4 days/week with rotating 8-day stretch every third week (4 days on, 4 days off, 8 days on, 4 days off)
- Must be available to train on 1st shift (day) for the first 90 days
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- On-call and overtime coverage may be necessary
What We’re Looking For:
- Current, up-to-date resume.
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science and ASCP certification (MLS, CLS, MT, BB).
- Associate degree in laboratory science or MLT with ASCP certification and 5+ years of transfusion service experience.
- Clinical experience in transfusion services (through education or prior employment).
- Strong knowledge of immunohematology.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and lab technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform serologic testing and interpret results.
- Prepare and issue blood components for transfusion.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, AABB, CLIA, OSHA, CAP).
- Operate and maintain lab equipment and reagents.
- Provide consultation and support to healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality improvement and training initiatives
