Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with a strong background in the retail industry and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Direct Lake, and modern data architecture.

This role will be responsible for developing scalable, high-performance BI solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across merchandising, supply chain, and store operations.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models tailored to retail KPIs.
  • Develop optimized DAX calculations, data models, and visuals to provide actionable insights for business users.
  • Implement performance tuning and best practices for enterprise BI environments.
  • Build and optimize Direct Lake datasets for high-volume retail datasets (sales, inventory, POS, promotions).
  • Leverage Fabric features such as OneLake and Lakehouse modeling to modernize reporting architecture.
  • Create reusable datasets and self-service BI capabilities for cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling for large-scale analytical solutions.
  • Strong SQL experience and familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Direct Lake).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the retail industry  
  • Background in performance optimization for large Direct Lake datasets.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and CI/CD for Power BI/Fabric.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative.
