JR Enterprise is seeking a skilled and compassionate Anesthesiologist to join our dedicated medical team at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN,

Supporting the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (Minneapolis VAHCS).

This is an exceptional opportunity to provide high-quality anesthesiology services for Veterans undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries and advanced medical procedures,

Ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout every stage of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer anesthesia and closely monitor patients during surgical procedures and medical interventions.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute individualized anesthesia care plans.
• Assist with implanting cardiac assist devices, including pacemakers, left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
• Assist with implanting cardiac defibrillators.
• Review medical histories, conduct physical assessments, and determine appropriate anesthesia protocols.
• Deliver comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, including managing complications and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with VA policies and healthcare standards.
• Participate in training and educational programs for medical staff and residents, contributing to continuous improvement in anesthesia practices.
• Respond to emergencies requiring anesthesia expertise and perform effectively under pressure.
• Follow all safety standards, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Work Schedule and Call Coverage:

• Estimated Work Hours: 80 hours every two weeks, excluding Federal holidays.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., excluding Federal holidays.
• Includes a 30-minute non-paid lunch break.
• On-call requirement: Negotiable.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).
• Board certified or board eligible.
• Cardiothoracic experience.
• Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
• Proven experience delivering anesthesiology services in a hospital or clinical environment.
• Ability to work independently, make sound clinical decisions, and collaborate effectively with surgical and medical teams.
• Knowledge of VA policies, federal regulations, and patient care standards is desirable but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a high-demand setting.
