Major/Essential Functions
- Utilize proactive clear and professional communication to provide changes and relevant information to supervisor.
- Preforms analysis of daily work including ePAFs, LRs, EOPs, HR transactions and Budget Revisions for adherence to governing regulations, policies and procedures.
- Run and review Cognos consistency edits. Analyzing data for possible errors, if necessary, initiating and performing corrective action.
- Review Negative Balances reports and edits for adherence to governing regulations, policies and procedures.
- Testing of the Banner system and Budget related systems.
- Assist departmental users with budget and personnel questions.
- Understanding and utilization of systems and data to provide financial and analytical support including analyzing budget for reasonableness and overspending.
- Produce and maintain complete well-organized documentation.
- Assist in preparation of Annual Operating Budget
- Actively continues personal education and development.
- Train department users on Budget related systems.
- Ability to design and prepare financial management reports from budget and accounting records.
- Should posses extensive PC skills, including knowledge of Enterprise systems, Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- The individual should have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet specific deadlines.
- Individual should also have excellent problem-solving, analyzation and decision-making skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with at least 9 hours of Accounting. Responsible work experience in an institution of higher education may substitute for a degree.
- Five years of experience in governmental or financial management work with experience in institutions of higher education highly desirable.
- Experience working with Budget, Human Resources and/or financial data and systems in a professional setting.
- Prior experience working in creation and maintenance of budgets.
- Prior experience/utilization of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft suite programs.
- Knowledge of Banner, Cognos, and other TTUS Systems.
