BluePrint Engines, A performance engine manufacturer located in Kearney, NE, is seeking a detail-oriented and high-performance Product Manager to help drive our new product commercialization process and product life cycle. Specializing in high-performance engine design and production, BluePrint Engines operate in a clean, climate-controlled facility that fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In this hands-on role, you’ll be an integral part of BluePrint Engine’s future and work cross functionally with many internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  •  Drives the strategic development, execution, and delivery on brand promise, vision, positioning, growth strategy, and achievement of overall brand goals.
  •  Financial analysis of new products including but not limited to: ROI, payback, future revenue, cost, selling price, margins, channel etc.
  •  Develop suitable private label opportunities for new products (bought and sold)
  •  Identification of market penetration opportunities
  •  Rationalizing existing product lines to reduce manufacturing complexity
  •  Product pricing strategies to ensure competitive market position
  •  Assessments of competitors’ strengths / weaknesses
  •  Leading the product line strategy through communication with members of the product development, marketing, engineering, sales, manufacturing and tech service teams.
  •  Market research and general marketing functions such as press releases, ad reviews, catalog reviews, technical feature / benefit callouts and technical presentations
  •  Travel to other company facility locations, trade shows, motorsport events, consumer car shows and possible offsite strategic meetings
  •  Continued familiarization with competitive companies, consumer preferences, distribution channels, and other strategic information necessary to perform job function
  •  Analyzes current performance, industry trends, market conditions, and other contributing factors as necessary to make recommendations for appropriate goals and targets in connection with strategic planning efforts
  •  Works collaboratively with operations / purchasing to identify and develop productivity and cost down initiatives.
  •  Become the product expert in your area of responsibility

Key Job Elements (Required Skills and Tasks):

  •  Strong leadership abilities, good communication and social skills, strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task
  •  The candidate should be creative, analytical and in-tune with the high-performance automotive aftermarket with an emphasis on internal combustion engines.
  •  Ability to identify new products and market trends to realize top line growth
  •  Ability to perform financial analysis of new products including but not limited to: ROI, payback including the ability to estimate the necessary inputs to such analysis
  •  Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite is required.

Basic Qualifications (Education/Experience required):

  •  Have experience (professional or personal) in the performance automotive aftermarket (Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Drag Racing, etc.)
  •  Experience in performance engines a plus
  •  Automotive technical background
  •  Proficiency in spreadsheet development, word processing and PowerPoint programs
  •  Proven ability to communicate well in both verbal and written context and must be able to work well with others in a team-building atmosphere

Contact (Internal & External):

Internal contacts will include frequent collaboration with marketing personnel, development engineers and senior management. Additional contact will be made with professional level personnel in manufacturing, finance, purchasing, and product management among others. Frequent contact outside of BluePrint Engines will include strategic development partners, marketing partners, sales reps, customers, consumers and engineering partners.
