Lactation Consultant / Counselor Nurse - RN / LPN At Jeffers, Mann and Artman Pediatric (JMA Pediatrics) our mission is to provide excellent medical care in a caring, family-centered environment and assist families in building happy, healthy children. JMA is seeking an energetic RN / LPN Certified Lactation Consultant / Specialist who thrives in a team based environment and has a passion for working with patients and their families in a primary care setting, to work part time, approximately 2-3 days a week. The Lactation Consultant/ Counselor is a Clinician, Teacher, and Leader. Routinely, the Lactation Consultant / Counselor provides specialized nursing care and education to breastfeeding mothers and their babies. In addition, the Lactation Consultant / Counselor makes clinical assessments, and uses current lactation theories and research to develop evidence-based feeding plans that address individual feeding issues while respecting the physicians and families breastfeeding goals. The Lactation Consultant / Counselor also has the opportunity to work in a staff nurse capacity, as needed. Licensure / Certifications Requirements: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to practice in North Carolina Board Certified as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or certified as a Lactation Counselor (CLC) BLS (CPR) American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Experience: 1 year in breastfeeding/lactation support preferred Pediatric/Primary Care Nursing experience preferred Responsibilities Provide expert lactation support and education to new mothers and families, ensuring optimal breastfeeding practices. Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized care plans. Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate lactation services into primary care. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and documentation of patient interactions.
