Assignment Details

• Coverage Type: Call Only (In-House)
• Schedule: 12-hour or 24-hour shifts; must be available Mon-Fri with some weekends
• Call Ratio: 1:5
• Call Schedule: Released 1-2 months in advance
• Practice Setting: Inpatient
• EMR: Cerner
• Trauma Level: 3
Requirements
• Board Certified in OB/GYN (Family Medicine OB not accepted)
• Active Iowa license or IMLC accepted
• Fetal Monitoring certification
• Willing to cover weekday and weekend shifts
• Clean history
Clinical Details
• Scope: Full-spectrum OB/GYN hospitalist coverage
• Typical Procedures:
- Vaginal and C-section deliveries - VBACs and complicated deliveries (breech, multiples, abruptions) - Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations - Surgical GYN: laparoscopic and open procedures (tubal ligation, LOA, ectopic, cystectomy) - OB Ultrasounds (Level I/screening) and FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• Case Volume:
- 65-80 deliveries per month - 2-5 nursery admissions per day
• Support Staff:
- 4 attending physicians, 1-2 CNMs, residents, L&D, postpartum, OR, and ER support
• Facility Notes:
- Sleep room on-site for 24-hour shifts - Cannot work two consecutive 24-hour weekday shifts (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun allowed)Compensation
