Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring strong PICU and cardiac experience, with WI or compact RN license and Epic charting proficiency.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a hospital environment
  • 21-bed high-acuity unit caring for critically ill or injured children
  • Provides care for patients with acute head injuries, neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplants, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO
  • Day/evening 12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00am-7:30pm
  • EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
  • First to float to other units or locations as needed for staffing requirements
  • Assignment duration is 13 weeks
  • Patient population includes both medical and surgical pediatric cases
  • Primary responsibilities include comprehensive, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients with diverse and complex needs
  • Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria; two attempts allowed before contract cancellation
  • Weekly orientation provided at the hospital, following department-specific scheduling
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet-designated, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
  • First time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
  • Time off requests generally limited to two weeks per contract, subject to manager approval
  • Holiday and weekend coverage may be required depending on unit needs
  • Scrub requirements or parking instructions will be detailed in the welcome letter
\n \n Requirements\n
  • Active WI or compact RN license required and must be in hand at the time of consideration
  • Minimum two years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last three years
  • At least three years of high-acuity hospital Pediatric ICU experience or strong Level II experience required
  • BLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association required
  • Basic arrhythmia experience required, with ability to pass telemetry test prior to start
  • Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
