Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector with composite manufacturing experience to join our aerospace production team. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting composite components and assemblies to ensure they meet strict internal, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong understanding of composites, and a commitment to accuracy, documentation, and compliance with aerospace quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect composite parts and assemblies at various stages of production — including layup, curing, trimming, finishing, and final inspection.
Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, workmanship standards, and customer or regulatory requirements.
Perform non-destructive inspections (NDI), visual inspections, dimensional checks, and surface-finish verifications as required.
Document inspection results, record non-conformances, and report any defects or deviations from standards.
Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure corrective actions are taken when issues arise.
Maintain inspection tools and gauges; ensure calibration and proper usage.
Support first-article inspections (FAI) or initial lot inspections when required.
Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality standards and internal procedures.
Participate in training programs and continuously improve inspection processes and standards.
Required Qualifications
Prior experience inspecting composite aerospace parts or assemblies (or similar composite manufacturing environments).
Strong understanding of composite materials, layup and curing processes, finishing techniques, and relevant inspection methods.
Experience with inspection tools, measurement techniques, and non-destructive inspection (NDI) or visual inspection methods.
Attention to detail, strong observational skills, and commitment to quality and compliance.
Good documentation and basic technical writing skills — able to record inspection results, non-conformances, and generate inspection reports.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment; able to follow procedures, standards, and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace industry experience.
Experience with first-article inspections (FAI) or source inspections.
Familiarity with industry quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) or equivalent quality management frameworks.
Previous experience with documentation systems, quality tracking, and NCR/CAPA processes.
