Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with required Epic charting experience and flexible day/night rotating shifts.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a corrections health unit and float to various oncology medical-surgical units as needed
  • Patient population includes inmates with oncology and non-oncology diagnoses
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 for PCU and 1:4-5 for medical-surgical units
  • Use Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
  • Shifts may include day, night, or a combination on a 12-hour rotation based on department needs
  • Weekend shifts vary depending on unit requirements
  • Locked unit with access controlled by corrections officers
  • Will float between corrections PCU and medical-surgical oncology units as assigned
  • Unit is secured and patient population consists of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections inmates
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social work
  • Knowledge of protocols for IV insulin, heparin, and management of cardiac drips (no titration)
  • Orientation and support provided by rapid response and provider teams
  • Dress code and additional work environment details will be provided upon assignment

  • Active OH or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Medical-surgical or telemetry experience required
  • Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and perform unit-based telemetry monitoring
  • Competence in IV therapies, blood product administration, central line and PICC management, and pre/post hemodialysis care
  • Experience with tracheostomy management and various respiratory support devices
