Job Description
Do you find yourself daydreaming about a life filled with access to adventure? A job that introduces you to travelers from across the planet? Denali is a hub for a person like you, and Denali ATV Adventures is one of the most exciting seasonal jobs through which to experience it!
Equal parts performer, educator, and outdoor enthusiast, the Denali ATV Adventure Guide requires big personalities, a thirst for curiosity, and a lifestyle spent saturated in nature. Denali ATV Adventure Guides are tasked with connecting our guests to the rugged backcountry of the Denali area and all the majesty that accompanies it. Our tours cut through the stampede corridor, an area speckled in mountainous landscapes, twisting trails through aspen groves, and river crossings. The main traits you’ll need to be a Denali ATV Adventure Guide are an outgoing and amiable disposition, an active interest in Alaska, and a passion for bringing people memorable experiences. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Directly engage with guests for the entire shift.
- Required to lead guests into the wilderness and through our trail systems by safely navigating the terrain and obstacles. Help novice drivers understand how to operate an ATV.

- Speak knowledgeably about the area, providing facts and answers to guest’s questions. We will provide you with a foundation of knowledge, but it is imperative that you show a curiosity and interest in continuing to learn about Alaska. The more you know, the more confident you can be as a leader on tour.
- Sometimes be required to make difficult judgment calls for the safety of our guests. This can include switching guests to an alternate unit, recognizing trail conditions and adapting quickly, and being mindful of the tour pacing.
- The workday goes from 8 am until midnight during our busy season and include “on call” shifts.
- You will be dirty and wet on the job more often than not. The position requires you to be comfortable and prepared for all weather, including rain, snow, fog, thunderstorms, the byproducts of wildfires, as well as sunshine. It is important that you understand what it takes to work in these conditions, as weather is a constant factor in our work.
- Basic understanding of the mechanical aspects of the ATVs is required, in order to help point out maintenance needs as they occur.
- This job requires First Aid and CPR certifications. You are not required to be a first responder, but you will need to be able to keep a level head during emergency medical situations.
- Daily list of duties will include power washing, drying, fueling, and parking ATVs. Additionally, you will be required to clean helmets, goggles and gloves.
- Required to perform trail maintenance. This is manual labor with tools such as pickaxes, shovels, and rakes.
- Flexible with your schedule and take things in stride, especially during the peak season. Overtime, private tours, and long work weeks may be necessary.
- Most importantly it is your job to keep our guest safe and happy. Being a good presenter, being engaging, excited, and knowledgeable is what makes you thrive here. We expect that your enthusiasm stays consistent throughout the summer. Your excitement is contagious to our visitors.
