Position Overview:
We are seeking a high-performing, motivated Event Sales Manager to lead and grow sales across our premier event venues: The University Club of Saint Paul, The Commodore Bar & Restaurant, and Villa Maria. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue, building client relationships, and ensuring exceptional service throughout the booking and event planning process. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, customer-focused, and excels in a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase event bookings and maximize revenue across all three venues.
  • Respond promptly to event inquiries, conduct venue tours, and convert leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, community organizations, and individual clients.
  • Prepare detailed event proposals, contracts, and invoices while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with venue managers, culinary teams, and operations staff to ensure seamless event planning and execution.
  • Attend networking events, bridal shows, and community functions to promote our venues.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of leads and track performance using CRM tools.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and market opportunities to stay competitive.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Represent the venues with professionalism and warmth, providing exceptional customer service at every touchpoint.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in event sales, hospitality sales, or related field (wedding, corporate, or social events experience preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple leads and events simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, event management platforms, and basic office software.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for tours, events, or client meetings.
