We are seeking a Property Accountant for a multi-state buy and hold real estate firm located in Downtown Boston! This role oversees the accounting activities for approximately 812 properties and supports broader corporate operations. Experience with Entrata Core is strongly preferred.

Overview:

  • $28-37/hr based on experience
  • On site in downtown Boston

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process property-level accounts payable to ensure timely invoice payments
  • Oversee accounts receivable activity for assigned properties
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries as needed
  • Review monthly financial statements and key operational reports, including gross potential rent, miscellaneous income, and expense distribution reports
  • Perform month-end financial reconciliations
  • Record bad debt write-offs
  • Ensure timely payment of real estate and personal property taxes
  • Manage resident deposit reconciliations and support adjustments to resident ledgers
  • Review scheduled charges, lease expirations, and resident deposit reports; follow up on discrepancies
  • Track and account for replacement reserves
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the companys property accounting software (Entrata Core) and assist property teams with training
  • Support special projects for property management, ownership groups, and senior accounting staff
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or college-level coursework
  • Minimum of 2 years of property accounting
  • Strong bookkeeping skills and experience
  • Experience with Entrata Core or similar systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to learn quickly through on-the-job training
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines without direct supervision
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work as a team

Work Environment

This is an onsite position located in the heart of downtown Bostons premier shopping district. Remote work is not available for this role
