Process Technician

Local plastics and composites manufacturer in Buffalo, NY is looking for process technicians to join their team!!

1st & 2nd shift available

Pay varies based on experience - $26-30/hr

The Process Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining compression molding processes to ensure efficient production, consistent product quality, and minimal downtime. This position is primarily hands-on and requires being on the production floor for the majority of the shift.

JOB DUTIES:

• Set up, start, and monitor compression molding machines and equipment according to established procedures.
• Adjust process parameters to maintain part quality and ensure production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Perform mold changes, machine adjustments, and auxiliary equipment setup as needed.
• Work closely with supervisors, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations.
• Document process settings, adjustments, and improvements for consistency and repeatability.
• Train operators and junior team members on proper machine operation and process standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve overall quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering-related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in molding or a related plastic/rubber molding environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and correct process issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and production specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and train on other shifts if required.
• This position mainly consists of being on the production floor for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing to access machinery and molds.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and materials safely.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and moving machinery.
