Material Handler Forklift Operator

Job Title: Material Handler/Forklift Operator
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Location: Chicago, IL 60654
Pay: $17.60 - $19.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling, moving, and storing materials efficiently while ensuring accuracy in inventory and shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read customer orders, shipping pick lists, or bills of lading to determine items to be moved or shipped.
• Transport materials and items from receiving or production areas to designated storage or shipping locations.
• Inspect received materials for accuracy and quality.
• Sort and properly place materials in assigned storage locations.
• Mark materials with identifying information as needed.
• Record amounts of materials received and distributed to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required. (50lbs required)
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
