Position Overview
The Director of Operations will lead the execution, quality, and delivery of Winergy’s environmental testing and certification services. This operational leader will build scalable systems, drive process discipline, enhance technician performance, and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across healthcare, life sciences, research, and industrial clients. The role is central to strengthening operational infrastructure and supporting the company’s continued growth.
Location / Reporting
• Company based in Fort Wayne, IN with offices in Chicago, Orlando, and Dallas. Preference for Chicago-based candidates; open to fully remote.
• Reports to: President
• Manages: Field Technicians, Scheduling, Quality Assurance, and Logistics Teams
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee nationwide service operations for testing, certification, and validation projects
• Build and refine standardized operating procedures and quality frameworks across all service lines
• Manage scheduling, logistics, and resource deployment for multi-state technician teams
• Ensure adherence to ISO, NSF, USP <797>/<800>, ANSI/ASHRAE, CDC, and other applicable regulatory standards
• Track and optimize performance through KPIs related to quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability
• Partner closely with sales, technical, and administrative teams to align operational capacity with client needs
• Lead technician onboarding, training, certification, and continuing development
• Oversee equipment calibration, maintenance schedules, and vendor relationships
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational friction and enhance consistency
• Build scalable documentation systems, internal communication channels, and reporting structures
Qualifications & Skills
• 7+ years of operations or service delivery experience in a technical or regulated industry (cleanroom certification, HVAC, laboratory services, pharmaceutical, etc.)
• 3+ years of operations leadership experience
• Demonstrated success managing distributed technical teams
• Strong understanding of quality systems, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent process design, organizational, and problem‐solving capabilities
• Strong communication and cross‐functional collaboration skills
• Proficiency with scheduling, CRM, and workflow management platforms (e.g., ServiceTitan, Salesforce)
• Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
• Technical or scientific background (engineering, industrial hygiene, microbiology, or related)
• Experience in testing, balancing, or certification of controlled environments
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar credentials
• MBA or advanced management degree
