Cath Lab Tech

Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech to join a cardiovascular services team. The role involves assisting physicians during cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high standards of operational efficiency.

• Prepare Cath Lab suite by ensuring cleanliness, fresh linens, and proper sterile equipment setup

• Verify all equipment is functioning correctly

• Safely transfer patients onto procedure tables

• Prepare procedure sites using aseptic/sterile techniques

• Assist Cardiologists during diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and peripheral interventions

• Serve as a sterile scrub assistant and anticipate physician needs during procedures

• Achieve and maintain hemostasis at arterial/venous access sites

• Monitor and report hematoma or abnormal hemostasis immediately

• Operate angiographic imaging equipment and adjust parameters as required

• Operate physiological/hemodynamic monitoring systems during procedures

• Record and announce cardiac rhythms and intra-cardiac pressures

• Administer contrast media per physician order and monitor patient response

• Maintain a safe and clean environment

• Follow safety protocols and hospital policies

• Report mechanical issues, equipment malfunction, or safety incidents promptly

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

• Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all patient care and procedures

• Perform required billing functions accurately and on time

• Identify and store images appropriately for medical record purposes

• Maintain supply inventory and report shortages

• ARRT (R) OR RCIS OR Paramedic License (Iowa)

• BCLS

• ACLS

• Minimum 2 years of experience in:

  • General vascular angiography

  • Coronary angiography (preferred)

Must-Haves:

• Recent hands-on experience with access management and Cath Lab case procedures

• Active Iowa RT(R) license or Iowa Paramedic license

• Eligibility: US Citizen or Green Card holder
