Position OverviewOur client is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their team in Norfolk, VA. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong research and writing skills who is eager to learn from seasoned litigation and transactional attorneys. The Associate will work closely with senior team members, assist with a wide range of legal matters, and provide counsel to both new and existing clients. The firm values professionalism, dedication, and the ability to manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough legal research to support litigation and transactional matters
Draft, review, and revise legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
Assist senior attorneys in preparing cases, managing files, and meeting deadlines
Provide legal advice to clients with professionalism and clarity
Maintain accurate and organized case files
Collaborate with attorneys and staff on complex legal matters
Prioritize multiple assignments and manage time effectively
Communicate clearly with clients and team members
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a law firm or clerkship (2+ years preferred)
Strong legal research and writing abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Client-service focused with professional judgment and discretion
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong decision-making and analytical skills
Collaborative team with mentorship from experienced attorneys
Exposure to both litigation and transactional practice areas
