Job Details:

The candidate will support manufacturing engineering services across vehicle and component production workflows. This role involves analyzing design configurations, developing build plans, defining manufacturing capabilities, and generating the documentation necessary to support efficient and repeatable assembly operations. The candidate will work closely with design engineering, production, quality, and systems engineering to develop optimized build flows, design functional tooling, and create work orders that enable successful functional and integrated testing. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to operate in a dynamic production environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, build planning, or production engineering

  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and specifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate within a multidisciplinary team

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Responsibilities:Manufacturing Services & Gap Analysis
  • Perform gap analysis between design configuration and manufacturing build planning.

  • Review engineering intent and identify discrepancies, missing details, and required manufacturing definitions.

Concept of Operations (CONOPs) Development
  • Develop CONOPs that define the build sequence, workflow, and optimized production steps.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline assembly operations and reduce inefficiencies.

Manufacturing Capability Identification
  • Identify manufacturing capabilities per work center to support fully optimized flow.

  • Evaluate manufacturing constraints, capacity, and required resources across the production environment.

Build Configuration Development
  • Identify build configurations required to support functional and integrated testing.

  • Define configuration states, transitions, and required tooling or operational readiness criteria.

Tooling Design
  • Design functional tooling to support vehicle and component assembly.

  • Develop fixtures, handling aids, and assembly support hardware required for safe and efficient builds.

Build Estimates
  • Calculate build estimates using industry standards and historical data provided.

  • Develop time standards and labor estimates to support production planning and scheduling.

Work Order Development
  • Develop manufacturing work orders that define tasks, instructions, tooling needs, inspection points, and safety considerations.

  • Coordinate work order release and ensure alignment with design, planning, and quality requirements.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, production planning, or assembly operations

  • Familiarity with MGSE, assembly tooling, or manufacturing equipment

  • Experience developing build instructions, work orders, or manufacturing documentation

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement practices

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Motivated, self-directed, and capable of balancing multiple tasks
