A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is looking for a junior drafter. The company is an industrial maintenance and fabrication firm in Bartow, Florida that takes pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining a supportive, friendly, and down-to-earth environment on compressed schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed piece-part and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks using existing 3D models.
- Separate components from full assemblies and generate accurate part-level drawings for production.
- Prepare nesting files for the burn table and coordinate with fabrication teams to validate readiness.
- Collaborate with senior Drafters to review designs, make revisions, and support project workflows.
- Maintain accurate documentation of drawings, revisions, and specifications.
- Assist with field measurements or shop-floor verification when needed.
- Support the drafting workload by handling lower-level tasks to allow senior staff to focus on advanced work.
- Participate in continuous learning to progress toward higher-level Draftsman responsibilities.
Must Have Qualifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks with the ability to create drawings from existing models.
- Experience generating piece-part drawings and separating assemblies into individual components.
- Familiarity with nesting concepts for burn table operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and basic fabrication documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistent communication.
- Comfort interacting with shop-floor personnel when verifying measurements or nesting requirements.
- A willingness to grow into more advanced drafting responsibilities over time.
Nice to Have Qualifications
- Experience working in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Exposure to other CAD platforms such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Basic understanding of sheet metal, structural steel, welding symbols, or machining concepts.
- Familiarity with CAM or nesting software used in burn table operations.
- Field measurement experience or any hands-on shop-floor exposure.
