About the Role

The Cashier/Kitchen Worker at Grab-N-Geaux #27 (GNG27) is a key team member responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting efficient store operations. This dual-role position requires managing front-of-house cashier duties with professionalism and accuracy, as well as performing back-of-house kitchen tasks with consistency and care.

Employees in this role contribute directly to the store’s success by handling customer transactions, preparing quality food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate balances strong customer service skills with reliable kitchen performance, ensuring that GNG27 continues to uphold its reputation for fast, friendly service and fresh, high-quality food. This position is essential in promoting repeat business and strengthening our connection with the community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash transactions

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching)

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and coworkers

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in cashiering or food service

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper hygiene practices

  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic kitchen equipment

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Customer service training or certification

ResponsibilitiesFront of House – Cashier Duties
  • Greet every customer warmly and professionally

  • Accurately process orders using the POS system

  • Handle cash, credit, and digital payment transactions with correct change and proper documentation

  • Maintain a clean, organized front counter and dining area

  • Address customer questions and resolve minor concerns promptly and politely

Back of House – Kitchen Duties
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to GNG27 recipes and quality standards

  • Ensure food is fresh, properly stored, and prepared using safe handling procedures

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen stations, equipment, and utensils

  • Assist with restocking ingredients and disposables, and report low inventory to management

  • Support smooth kitchen workflow during peak periods through teamwork and communication
