Job Description
We are seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our underground utility crew. This role focuses on trenching and supporting the installation of storm, sewer, and water pipe systems. Operators must be highly skilled in trench work and comfortable working closely with pipelayers and foremen to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate pipe placement.
Responsibilities- Operate excavators to dig trenches to specified depth, slope, and alignment.
- Safely drag and set trench boxes according to site safety requirements.
- Assist in laying pipe by positioning and lowering materials into the trench.
- Coordinate with pipelayers and runners to ensure proper pipe installation.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Maintain awareness of underground utilities and trench safety protocols.
- Support backfill operations and site cleanup as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating excavators in underground utility work.
- Strong understanding of trenching techniques and pipe installation requirements.
- Ability to read grade stakes and site plans.
- Familiarity with trench box setup and OSHA safety standards.
- Experience working with storm, sewer, or water main systems.
- Proficient in dozer operations.
- Responsible for leading crew towards project deadlines and completion dates.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $32.00/hr.
