CT Technologist – Job Summary Role: Under general supervision, performs diagnostic CT exams using appropriate imaging equipment. Key Responsibilities: Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness. Interview patients to obtain/update medical history and assess risk factors (medications, pregnancy, psychological conditions). Explain procedures, including risks, benefits, alternatives, and side effects of pharmaceuticals. Set up imaging equipment and acquire images according to physician’s orders. Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions, and communicate findings to radiologists. Recognize and respond to medical emergencies. Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions. Participate in process improvement initiatives, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction. Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees. Take call/standby as required. May perform Radiologic Technologist duties as needed. Facility Requirements Certifications: ARRT in CT Tech & Radiology (must attach to submission) BLS through American Heart Association (must attach) Experience: Minimum 2 years recent CT & Radiology experience; must be able to work independently Equipment: Familiarity with GE CT & X-ray machines Licensure: Must be registered with South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) Submission Instructions All submittals must use the template below or they will be rejected.
