Description:

Location: ***FORT LAUDERDALE***

Work type: Fully ON-SITE (Full-time)

Schedule: Monday - Friday

About us:

Hallandale Pharmacy is a trusted, community-focused 503A compounding pharmacy dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, personalized medication solutions, and outstanding service. We collaborate with healthcare professionals nationwide to enhance patient well-being and adhere to rigorous USP standards to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance in every prescription.

We are a fast-growing organization entering an exciting phase of expansion. With increasing operational needs and evolving business goals, we are building our internal technology capabilities to support efficiency, scalability, and innovation.

***WHY THIS ROLE IS UNIQUE***

This is a brand-new position and our first in-house Full Stack Software Engineer. You will play a foundational role in building the systems that power the pharmacy — from internal tools to customer-facing applications. You will:

  • Establish engineering standards and development best practices
  • Build new applications and modernize existing systems
  • Have full ownership of technical decisions
  • Work directly with the CEO, COO, IT Manager, and operational leaders
  • Help guide the future of our tech stack and internal processes

This is a highly hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in low-structure, fast-moving, startup-style environments.

If you want to build from the ground up — instead of maintaining someone else’s system — this is the perfect opportunity.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of both internal and customer-facing applications. This role covers the full development lifecycle — architecture, coding, testing, integration, and deployment.

The ideal candidate is strong across both front-end and back-end development, comfortable making architectural decisions, and excited to help build a modern technology ecosystem inside a rapidly growing company.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • FSA, Flexible Spending Account
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Sick Time
  • Mental Health Support through Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Paid Short-Term and Long Term Disability
  • Paid holidays
  • Supportive, team-oriented work environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications for pharmacy operations, workflows, and e-commerce systems.
  • Architect secure, scalable APIs and back-end services using Java/Spring Boot.
  • Build intuitive, responsive front-end interfaces using modern frameworks and Optimizely CMS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement SQL/NoSQL databases and ensure data integrity, performance, and reliability.
  • Build automation and integrations to streamline internal processes.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the stack.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and security standards for handling sensitive pharmacy data.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and propose scalable, innovative solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
  • Proven success building scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
  • Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience working across the full stack: front-end, back-end, databases, and cloud.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Ability to take ownership, work independently, and operate in a low-structure environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with CMS platforms, especially Optimizely.
  • Strong back-end experience with Java/Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular/Vue, Node.js).
  • Front-end experience with HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and responsive design.
  • Strong database knowledge (SQL + NoSQL, especially MongoDB).
  • Experience with Git, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize performance, and build scalable solutions.
