Overview

The Pastry Production team plays a key role in bringing The Buttery’s pastries to life each day. In this role, you’ll assist with preparing, scaling, mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing a wide range of pastry items in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen. You’ll follow established recipes and production guides, maintain consistency and accuracy in every batch, and help ensure our pastry program runs smoothly from start to finish.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in craftsmanship. You’ll support daily production, contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and work closely with the pastry team to meet deadlines and uphold The Buttery’s standards of quality and care.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Quality Control: Prepare, portion, and bake a wide range of pastries and baked goods, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Process & Equipment Management: Support daily production workflows by following established processes and operating bakery equipment safely, efficiently, and with care.
  • Cleanliness & Food Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment in accordance with all health and safety guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the pastry, kitchen, and delivery teams to meet production timelines and communicate any product, inventory, or process needs.
  • Growth & Improvement: Bring a mindset of continuous learning- offering ideas to refine recipes, improve workflow, and support the overall success of the production team.


Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional bread baking experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Expertise in pastry production and techniques
  • Strong understanding of baking science and ingredient functionality.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
