Job Description:
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating new business, managing existing accounts, and driving sales growth within your assigned territory. This role requires a self-starter who has some understanding of the construction industry and thrives on building long-term relationships with customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop plans to satisfy prospects and customers’ needs and present solutions to customers.
- Continually enhance sales skills and industry knowledge, to promote a professional image.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
- Generate sales reports each week and submit them to management.
- Conduct sales and service activities, develop strong customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products, services, and solutions.
- Organize and conduct training sessions for customers, survey market and competitive conditions
- Monitor customer complaints, follow up on outstanding orders, and make emergency calls and deliveries as required.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue goals
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through networking and site visits
- Provide product knowledge, pricing, and support to contractors and project managers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
- All other duties/special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have your driver’s license and be able to meet driving insurance guidelines.
- Previous successful sales experience or a strong interest in kickstarting your sales career. (construction supply or related industry preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Resilience and ability to handle rejection without being discouraged.
- Self-starter who enjoys putting in a good day’s work
- Friendly & outgoing with an ability to quickly connect with others
- Innovative & eager to put forth new ideas
- Travel and complete routes within a territory
- Basic computer skills, including Excel
- Remote & Onsite: Reporting into and working remotely from the Branch location
- Team-oriented company culture where it’s called work for a reason, but have fun in the process
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Able to work in any weather or climate
- Able to lift and move material or equipment.
- Availability to workdays, evenings, and weekend hours if needed.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
