Mechanical Assembler

Pay: $27.66/hr.
Shift: (2nd Shift) 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Assemblers with hands-on expertise in assembling conveyor systems and related mechanical components. This role involves building and testing conveyor assemblies, installing belt-driven, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, interpreting blueprints, and working with drive shafts, motors, and gearboxes.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, is detail-oriented, and is able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position contributes directly to producing high-quality equipment that meets customer specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble conveyor systems, including belt-driven, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Set up, change over, and operate equipment for various assemblies.
- Install motors, gearboxes, drive components, and related mechanical parts.
- Plumb or pipe pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
- Test completed assemblies for proper fit, functionality, and alignment.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, squares, and tape measures.
- Inspect parts and assemblies for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Accurately track and log time sheets and assembly documentation.
- Follow QMS procedures, safety guidelines, and plant rules.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other lift-assist equipment.
- Perform general maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Transfer finished assemblies to the next production stage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and schematics.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting at least 40 lbs.
- Experience using hand tools and precision measuring tools.
Preferred Qualifications (We Value)
- 3+ years of experience in industrial or mechanical assembly (Class 1).
- 1+ year of experience in industrial assembly (Class 2).
- Technical education or mechanical training.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and multitask.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Clear communication and accurate reporting skills.
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
