Position: SAP S/4HANA Utilities Solution Architect

Location: Phoenix, AZ - Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in SAP IS-U industry best practices.
• Deliver Utilities industry best practices for the design and implementation of integrated SAP IS-U/CIS solutions.
• Work directly with Functional Leads and oversee integrated design/implementation for Back-Office components (FICA, Billing, DM/AMI, Exceptions Management) and Front Office components (Service, Sales).
• Lead the solution scope and execution of Conference Room Pilots (CRP) during the Build Phase.
• Oversee the design/implementation of third-party integrated solutions critical to business operations.
• Provide governance for key non-SAP solutions and vendors (e.g., SEW, TRC (GSX), PayGo).
• Advise the Cutover workstream on best practices for Cutover planning, Dress Rehearsal, and Operational Readiness Testing (Bill Compare, Financial Reconciliation).
• Guide the Data Conversion workstream on functional best practices for data conversion and reconciliation.
• Provide oversight to the Testing workstream on testing scope, test scenario/case creation, and SIT/UAT execution.
• Support the Business Integration (OCM) workstream with insights into functional change impacts and training approach.
• Advise the Technical workstream on functional requirements related to environment landscape, performance testing, and build execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment of integrated solutions.
• Conduct routine system audits and performance reviews to identify and resolve potential issues.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
• Facilitate team and client-facing workshops to enhance overall project capabilities and knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on experience in SAP IS-U implementations, including Billing, FICA, Device Management (DM/AMI), Customer Service, and Work Management.
• Deep understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA Utilities, including integration with third-party systems such as SEW, TRC (GSX), PayGo.
• Proven proficiency in solution architecture: blueprinting, configuration, SIT/UAT testing, and deployment.
• Strong experience in cutover planning, dress rehearsals, and operational readiness testing (bill compare, financial reconciliation).
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams during Build, Test, and Deploy phases, including oversight of OCM, Data Conversion, and Technical workstreams.
• Experience conducting and managing Conference Room Pilots (CRPs) and solution validation workshops.
• Strong governance skills for non-SAP solutions and effective vendor management.
• In-depth knowledge of Utilities industry best practices, especially around Customer Information Systems (CIS) and SAP IS-U.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within the Utilities sector.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Ability to mentor junior consultants and support professional development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for managing complex business requirements.
