Position Description: The Membership Recruiting Specialist (MRS) recruits and retains girl and adult members and strengthens the Girl Scouts Louisiana East brand throughout assigned regions. The role uses targeted outreach, presentations, and relationship-building strategies to increase awareness of Girl Scouting and support Council initiatives.What You Will Do:Drive membership growth by recruiting new members, supporting retention initiatives, and building strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, and faith-based groups to expand brand visibility and engagement.Develop and maintain strong networks, contacts, and marketing strategies to identify prospects, present effectively, and recruit new girl and adult members.Coordinate recruitment and engagement events by managing scheduling, logistics, and materials; delivering effective presentations; facilitating activities; cultivating potential volunteers; and completing accurate post-event documentation.Evaluate membership campaign outcomes to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, and use insights to refine recruitment plans, adjust messaging, and strengthen follow-up processes.Maintain accurate lead tracking in GS data management systems by documenting interactions, completing timely follow-up, and cultivating positive relationships with prospects and community partners.Engage current members proactively through targeted communication and follow-up to encourage continued participation and support overall retention goals.Mentor adult volunteers to ensure effective delivery of Girl Scout programs and high-quality services to girls.Identify Council delegates for annual meetings and support meeting operations, including registration, training, and other assigned duties.Build strong service unit teams by identifying and engaging volunteers who can support community connections and advance Council initiatives.Participate in Council-wide programs, community events, and fund development activities to support outreach and lead generation.Maintain flexibility to work both on-site and remotely while participating in cross-training to support broader team needs.Communicate regularly with the supervisor by providing timely status updates, identifying challenges, and reviewing priorities during scheduled check-ins.Perform other duties as assigned to support Council goals and organizational needs.What You Bring:
Associates degree (Bachelors preferred) in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales, lead generation, recruitment, marketing, or a related role.
Minimum of three (3) years of customer service or related role experience is required.
Experience working in a non-profit, youth, or community-service environment is preferred.
Experience working with volunteers or interns is a plus.
Prior Girl Scout experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience or ability to learn CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check.
Valid, unencumbered drivers license and proof of vehicle insurance is required.
Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) membership (at hire)Ability to work overtime as directed.Ability to travel throughout the Councils jurisdiction.Benefits:Paid vacation and sick timeHealth insurance 401(k)
