ADA Accommodations Specialist

Our organization is one of the nation's largest non-profit healthcare systems, committed to providing whole-person care—caring for the mind, body, and spirit—in the communities we serve. We are currently seeking support within our employee benefits and administration team.The ADA Accommodations Specialist serves as the subject matter expert responsible for the end-to-end administration of disability-related accommodation inquiries, ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) and organizational policy.

salary: $31 - $34 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the expert regarding employment laws related to the ADA
• Review the eligibility and availability of federal, state, and company leave time (including FMLA, etc.) for team members requesting ADA-covered leave
• Accurately document all ADA cases in accordance with legal compliance requirements
• Liaise with Risk Management, Employee Relations, Leave Administration Vendor, and Talent Acquisition regarding worker’s compensation intersections, unauthorized absences, or accommodation denials
• Manage the interactive process between the team member, facility leaders, and the attending physician by reviewing clinical documentation and facilitating accommodation discussions

Job Qualifications

• Two (2) years of related experience in support of ADA accommodations in a Human Resources team environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations surrounding ADAAA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, OSHA, USERRA, IRS, and DOL
• Experience with Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, specifically PeopleSoft, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
