American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience with a strong neuro background and stroke care experience.

- ,Works in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting \n
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM \n
- Patient ratio of 1:2 \n
- Required to work every other weekend \n
- 50% holiday coverage required \n
- Mandatory floating to ICU and Med Surg units as needed \n
- Cerner charting system preferred but not required \n
- \n
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration \n
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required with a strong neuro clinical background \n
- Stroke care experience required \n
- Teaching hospital experience preferred \n
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs \n
- Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, and suctioning (ETT, NT) \n
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required \n
- Neurological skills required including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD management, ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care \n
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required \n
- IV insulin protocol management and heparin drip management skills required \n
- Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs as an essential function of the role \n

- Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU patients requiring close monitoring and specialized neurological interventions \n
- Works in a healthcare facility operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays and during inclement weather \n
- Routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses \n
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate \n
- Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 10 days \n
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this role \n
- Re-orientation not required for returning travelers within 18 months of their last assignment \n
